Man oh man, where has the time gone? It has been FOREVER since my last blog. This move has rocked my overly organized world. With no family or friends to help with the kiddos, I've had to relinquish control and throw in the towel when it comes to my "perfectly planned day" and trying to be superwoman. But I don't necessarily think that's a bad thing. I've been given the perfect opportunity to take a step backwards and not only reorganize my life and priorities, but to stretch myself.
You see, life in Colorado was... comfortable. We had a HUGE support system to help us whenever we needed it and it made doing things a lot easier. If I didn't feel up to taking four kids to my doctor's appointment, I didn't have to. Help was just a phone call and/or short drive away.
Things are a little different here in Oklahoma. If one of us has somewhere to be, we are loading up as a family and going, whether we like it or not. Naps have been skipped, we've been late to practices, bedtimes have been missed and I don't feel bad. This is real life. This is what life is like raising four kids in a town where you don't know anyone... and I'm kinda diggin' it!
Being around one another 24/7 with no "breaks," I can already see how much closer the kids are getting with one another and how many more "moments" Joe and I can share with the kids. It really has been special for us growing that much closer as a family.
Now, don't get me wrong. I miss our family and friends in Colorado, and I can't wait to build relationships here with people and find a great church home where we can start to have a support system. But for now, I will take this time to grow as a family unit together- through the good and bad...
... Oh yeah... And did I mention we are crazy people and added two cute pups to the mix? Takes care of that baby fever I guess.. ;)
